Why convert to point cloud? 2018-04-13T14:48:32+00:00
Can I use GoVR spaces in CAD software like Revit or Recap? 2018-04-13T14:31:16+00:00

Yes! You can download an industry-standard OBJ file from any Space, which contains both 3D mesh and textures.

If you are using your 3D data for modeling, you can also retrieve a coloured point cloud generated from your 2D and 3D data.

Is there a limit to the number of scans in a space? What is the maximum scannable property size? 2018-04-13T14:29:27+00:00

GoVR models up to 200 scans can be processed successfully. This is more than enough for most residential properties — 200 scans can typically cover about 1000 meters squared.

Models larger than 200 scans can be uploaded, but are not guaranteed to process successfully.

For large properties (such as multiple floors of a commercial building) divide into regions and create a separate GoVR model for each region. Then link the regions together to create a cohesive navigation experience.

How long does it take to scan a typical home? 2018-04-13T14:27:23+00:00

On average, it takes about 45 minutes to scan 100 meters squared, so a typical 200 meters squared property can be scanned in about 60 to 90 minutes.

Scan time can vary based on the complexity of the location and other factors. For example, open commercial real estate properties with less geometric detail can often be scanned more quickly than heavily occluded spaces like MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) rooms.

How do I embed GoVR 3D Virtual Tour in a website? 2018-04-13T14:24:20+00:00

Embed 3D Showcase the same way you embed a YouTube video with a simple iframe. You can add it yourself, or ask your webmaster to add it for you.

Embedding a Space is straightforward and similar to embedding a YouTube video. Here is a sample embed code for a GoVR Space:

<iframe width=’853′ height=’480′ src=’https://govr.eu/3d-model/atomium/fullscreen/?embedded’ frameborder=’0′ allowfullscreen=’allowfullscreen’></iframe>

<div id=’wp3d-1726′><a href=’https://govr.eu/3d-model/atomium/fullscreen/?embedded’>LOADING – Atomium</a><script src=’//s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp3dmodels/js/embed-iframe.js?id=wp3d-1726′></script></div>

Do I get any other assets from my 3D space? 2018-04-13T14:18:49+00:00

Depending on your needs, you can use a 3D Space to generate 2D print and digital photography, video, and more.

If you’re familiar with 3D modeling software, you can also download an OBJ file with the 2D/3D data. Construction and engineering customers can also export colored, registered point clouds and reflected ceiling plans via our beta program.

What is a GoVR Space? 2018-04-13T14:17:26+00:00

A GoVR Space is a complete, three-dimensional representation of a real-world location created from 2D (RGB) imagery and 3D data from the Pro2 3D Camera and Leica BLK 360. A GoVR  Space can be navigated on a desktop or mobile web browser, and in virtual reality through a Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard, or Google Daydream.

Combined with seamless hosting and our web player called 3D Showcase, GoVR Spaces create a complete 3D media ecosystem for businesses to leverage 3D models of real places for many purposes — property marketing, AEC architecture, engineering and construction, facilities management, and news/entertainment.
